Sigils

A sigil (/ˈsɪdʒəl/; pl. sigilla or sigils) is a type of symbol used in magic. The term has usually referred to a type of pictorial signature of a deity or spirit. In modern usage, especially in the context of chaos magic, sigil refers to a symbolic representation of the practitioner's desired outcome.

Small illustrations are put together by an algorithm to create new shapes. The randomness introduced by changing presets in the algorithm creates unexpected shapes that deviate from the original intention of the creator.

We might think that we are in control, but are we really? The process of creating new 'tiles' and tweaking the algorithm is a never ending search for a desired outcome that might never come. The search remains the only certainty.
